Leave the planning to us and come out for a fun and relaxed trip. Lance Irven, an easygoing guide with decades of experience, will take you to where the fish are at.  We encourage beginners to pick up a fly rod for the first time and are happy to instruct.  From beginner to expert, if you have gear or not, we have you covered. $500 full day walk & wade.  $600 Olympic peninsula, Yakima river or custom float trips.  Each extra person $50.

Fly fishing in Washington

Situated at the heart of the PNW wonderland, Washington has such a diverse fishing landscape.  From the rainforested mountains and wild steelhead of the West End to the dry desert eastern Washington lakes filled with Browns and Lahontan Cutthroat.  We really have it all here in the state.  We Specialize In:  Sea Run Cutthroat year around.  Whether in the rivers of the Olympic Peninsula or salt water beaches from Sequim around to the north end of Hood Canal and Indian Island. Especially in the Puget Sound, Kingston, on Bainbridge Island and south to Allyn, Gig Harbour and Ollala for the early chum fry out migration.  Steelhead, summer steelhead will hit dry flies and smaller wet flies.  Winter Steelhead will take a swung fly or it's a nymphing game.  Up to you, or do both!  Trout, either on foot high up on the Olympic Peninsula or floating a drift boat down the Yakima river, we do it all.  Char is often caught accidentally when fishing for Steelhead but in certain circumstances you can fish them for catch and release.  Make sure to keep them in the water and use barbless hooks.  Salmon, when they show up in the rivers and you are allowed to fish for them it can be quite a lot of fun on the fly!

Fly Fishing Classes

We offer a variety of great classes fly fishing throughout the state of Washington.

Small Stream Steelhead Techniques:  February3

9am-1 pm.  Meet on Sol Duc to learn various tricks to master the small stream.  Then the group will leave for a small, brushy steelhead river to put their skills to the test and get some hands on instruction.           $115 per person,  Limit 6.

Sea Run cuts: Saltwater beach

10am-1:30pm.  Explore Indian Island, a notoriously fishy sea run cutthroat destination.  Sharpen up on your skills for the chum fry bonanza, or learn something totally new.  Geared as an instructional lesson on catching the elusive SRC and learning a bunch of new spots.   $90 each, limit 8.

Teal Lake: Pontoon/float tube

1pm-4pm.  Come and learn about the great fly fishing only, Teal Lake.  Fish it too!  Bring your float tube or pontoon.

Small Stream Trout series:

Learn the techniques, flies and finesse it takes to catch small trout in tiny overlooked streams near you or far away in the mountains.  Take these skills and a 3 wt with you anywhere in the world to catch trout. 3.5hrs.

Stehekin River Adventure: September 30 - October 1

The prime time to be on one of Washington's best little trout streams on the edge of the wilderness.  Catch huge wild cutthroat trout on dries flies and giant lake run rainbow trout on streamers.  A unique time of year and unique fishery.  Only accessed from sea plane or boat (or a multi day trek through the North Cascades National Park).  Catch the Lady of the Lake tour boat to the end of Lake Chelan and brace yourself for two days of nonstop fishing.  Camp, rent a cabin or stay at the lodge.  Fish with a guide 10 am to 3 pm each day and enjoy all that the peaceful Stehekin valley has to offer.  Noon to 5pm the first day and start early to finish by noon the second day to coincide with the boat and shuttle schedules.  2 days for $450 each, limit 5.  Extra days available at a discount.

Learn to row a drift boat:   Yakima river,  July8 & 9.

Ever wanted to learn how to row your own drift boat?  Get professional instruction from our guide who has been rowing for over 15 years.  We will float the canyon section and learn how to safely navigate the current and techniques to keep the fly fishing longer in the water. 1 day class, limit 2.  Book 1 day or a second to test your new skills on a different float.  $225 per person.

Winter Olympic peninsula lakes

I know it's cold out but no better time to land a monster, and you will have the lake to yourself.  Got a good selection of lakes in the area to pick from or bring your own suggestion.  $200 for    4hrs!

Spring into Skwalas on the Yakima River

The first major bug hatch is knocking on the door, reserve your spot today.  April and May have some big stoneflies hatching and some of the most aggressive dry fly takes.  Float Washington's only blue ribbon trout stream and be ready to set the hook.  Full day floats on the Yakima for a reduced fee, only $300 for 1 person and an extra $50 if you want to bring your buddy.

I know it's kind of a guilty pleasure but who doesn't want to catch a Rainbow Trout over 25 inches, even if they grew up eating pellets?!  Spend 4 hours bank fishing trying to get one to eat, sight fishing or not.  Without even setting foot into the river because you can't, ha.  Quite a unique fishery.  Sometimes dry flies, nymphs, scuds or streamers.  There is always something to try and the rewards are worth the drive. $300 for 1, $50 each additional up to 6.
